ERA Reduces Electricity Tariffs for the Fourth Quarter of 2019

On 4th October 2019, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) announced new Electricity End - User (Retail) Tariffs applicable for customers served by Umeme Limited during the 4th Quarter (October to December) of 2019, with a reduction in the Tariffs across all consumer categories.
According to the approved Tariff Schedule, Domestic Consumers will pay UGX 752.5 from UGX 755.1, Commercial Consumers – UGX 666.1 from UGX 669.5, Medium Industrial Consumers - UGX 595.6 from UGX 599.2, Large Industrial Consumers - UGX 364.0 from UGX 365.7, Extra Large Consumers - UGX 302.6 from UGX 304.7 and Street Lighting Consumers– UGX 370.4 from UGX. 371.4.
The approved Electricity End-User Tariffs for the Fourth Quarter of 2019 represent a weighted average reduction of 0.5 percent, relative to the Tariffs of the Third Quarter of 2019.
The new Tariffs are applicable to all Electricity consumer bills raised by Umeme Limited, based on meter readings and Yaka purchases taken in the period October to December 2019.
