ERA Staff Wins Chief Finance Officers’ Award

On 19th October 2018, the Electricity Regulatory Authority celebrated another achievement when its Director for Financial Services, CPA Edward Iruura, emerged the winner of the “Chief Finance Officer of the Year 2018 Award in the Public Sector Category.
CPA Iruura was recognized for his outstanding intelligence, creativity, digital knowledge, emotional intelligence, experience, vision, technical and ethical skills in respect to Financial Management.
ACCA Uganda in partnership with Deloitte organized the Awards under the theme: “Finance in Digital World”. According to ACCA Uganda, the Awards aimed to illuminate the essential role the Finance Function plays in driving integrated thinking in decision-making and in building sustainable business models, as well as driving awareness, inspiring action and developing a community of Finance Leaders, committed to creating more sustainable outcomes for their organizations.
Addressing staff in respect to CPA Iruura’s Award, the Chief Executive Officer of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, Eng. Ziria Tibalwa Waako, congratulated CPA Iruura, noting that through the day-to-day execution of his work, he had consistently demonstrated all the values that ACCA Uganda and Deloitte based on to declare him a winner. .
In November 2017, the Authority emerged winner of the Financial Reporting Award - Regulatory Bodies and Associations Category, organized by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Uganda Securities Exchange (USE). In 2016, the Authority had been recognized for its outstanding achievement in Financial Reporting among the Regulatory Bodies in Uganda.
